Seychelles Travel Guide-Day to day Itinerary-1

“One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don’t throw it away.”

― Stephen Hawking

Enter a temple- you feel peaceful, go to the mountains and it turns you into a philosopher, take a walk by the beach and it will definitely fill you with joy. This is the power of travel, brings out the hidden person within you and in the process transforms you.

When you think of Seychelles, the picture that come in mind is of beaches and why not after all Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, off East Africa. You have so many diverse options that if a person wants , he can be just walking around various trails amidst dense forest. My itinerary here is a mix of all these and you can definitely do more of what you like more.

Day 1 : Exploring a bit of Mahe and cruise to Praslin

One important part of planning any travel is finding a good place to stay, it should be scenic , close to a beach and must have all the amenities that you would be needing. For me it was very important to have a self catering place as me being a vegetarian would have struggled a lot to find vegetarian food plus it also saves a lot of bucks. Ideally you may end up spending almost 20 Euros for a breakfast and 32 euros for a dinner and lunch. Our stay at Stephana Residence  was absolutely spot on in all the criteria.

We had a ferry to catch at 4 pm and had enough time to explore in an around. We just took a morning walk to explore the place. We were totally amazed by the greenery of the place and every picture i clicked had that too much green in it.

We went to the nearby supermarket and decided to walk to the Anse Boileu Beach post Breakfast. We walked along the beach and that itself was so fascinating as there were so many places to sit , so many different viewpoints that it made a good experience. If you walk along this beach do visit Anchor Cafe . We had a good time roaming around , just in time to return to our place of stay for the cab to the Jetty which was quite far.

We had booked our Fast ferry with Cat Cocos and i think it was a deal. You have regular ferry throughout the day. You can always take the last ferry out as we had done , this gave us one extra day of exploring Mahe plus also enough time to go and check in to the next island and a get a good nights sleep. The ferry ride from Mahe to Praslin is 1 hour and if you are lucky you can spot few dolphins too. We tried to get the top berth but were not allowed. Though we would have loved that , we will get the upper berth in our subsequent ferry Rides.

We took a cab at Praslin to our resort, it cost us 200 SCR. More about the resort and day 2 in the next post.

The Seychelles sound perfect already, and this is only the first of your posts I’ve read about them. Love the Stephen Hawking quote, by the way.
