Village Sarchi in Tirthan Valley- Picture of the month April

“ Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent school masters, and teach us more than we can ever learn from books”- John Lubbock

There is a magical image of a place that keeps coming to me in my dreams. That image of a small village in the mountain: shrouded in clouds, a  waterfall in close proximity  and the rumble of gushing water in the valley. A village with few houses, a tea shop , a small pond and a temple decorated with Buddhist flags. Above all the presence of the mountains, the mighty Himalayas with snow clad tops.  I went to one such dreamy village named Sarchi in Tirthan valley.

It was a cloudy afternoon and at times I had to use the umbrella. As I reached the village the rain Gods had some mercy on me. The mountains also were benevolent enough to reveal themselves to me. The trail has everything, small villages on the way, waterfalls amidst dense Cedar forests, picturesque skies, medieval temples, chirpy kids, colourful birds, dreamy water points and absolute solitude. There were wooden homes just perched at the edge of the valley with a full glimpse of the snow clad mountains. This particular house just took my breath away; I spent a good hour here before heading back just meditating on the view that the place had to offer.

Picture Story – camouflage

“Never Hide your Wings”

Butterflies and caterpillars are preyed upon by birds, spiders, lizards and various other animals. Largely defenseless against many of these hungry predators, they have developed a number of passive ways to protect themselves. One way is by making themselves inconspicuous through the use of camouflage.

Was trekking in the Sharavati valley in India. It was a hot day spent in deep deep forest and the better part of it was spent cautiously walking on the slippery rocks by the river. There came a point where I though , lets take a dip in the flowing river. It is here that i found a beautiful butterfly sitting on the socks. It is a thing of nature that matches the butterfly to its surroundings, after all only in the wild will one realize that survival is the only instinct here. On a lighter note   I think fashion enthusiasts would get awed by the match of the socks and butterfly color. In the background you could find my specs.

Between nothing like a dip after a hot day’s work.

Another trip with friends

Will be leaving for Gujarat in another half an hour.Whenever I will read this post in future it must remind me of the fight i have put for this trip.Between i wanted to share with the blog a pic of mine, I got my first suit and thought would be worth a memory.

I loved the latest episode(Season 7:12) of how i met your mother. The friendship gesture of Ted towards Robin brought some tears.I am going to this trip for some laughs as Ralph Waldo Emerson aptly says,”It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them.”

Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye

The rule is ,”Never have a meetha pan alone , have it with friends.”This time it was with the football team.

You can have a laugh with anyone in the world, all it takes is a open mind and a cheerful heart.

Taming the mind

I am posting my latest picture here just to remind me that I also have the flavor of the greats because I can tame my mind.Loosing 11 kgs may seem just a number to some but for me it has come with lot of sacrifices and self control. The best among these was quitting the smoke.

Another chapter added to my pursuit of happiness.

Cheers to my self.
